We are lucky enough to be next to the ocean, and therefore have a lot of couples coming to us with a blue colour palette to incorporate the beautiful South West into their big day – and why not? With the Pantone of the year being Classic Blue, it will be a popular colour for weddings, and we love it.
Contrary to popular belief, there are blue flowers! Granted there aren’t many, but the ones you can get are truly beautiful, match them with classic whites for a subtle coastal look or team them with some light purples for a country garden feel – we love all things flowers and can help you with the best for your wedding or event, we’ve listed some of our favourite true blue blooms below…

This hardy stem is available all year round and perfect if you’re going for a coastal theme or to incorporate some Scottish Heritage into your day (of course!). Thistle from flower wholesalers aren’t spiky either, we promise. No prickly fingers here!
Great for: buttonholes, pew ends, table plate flowers
Top tip: because of their long life span, thistles can be used in out of water arrangements with no risk of drooping

These pretty little flowers are available in blue (as well as white, pink & lilac) and are a lovely dainty addition to any wedding or event, they are grown in abundance in Cornwall too so if you’re looking for a real local flower, look no further!
Great for: Country garden, rustic weddings
Top tip: Cornflower hold their colour when dried so they make great biodegradable confetti!
